Alex & Annie Rich

Photographing Alex and Annie’s engagement was especially meaningful because Alex had already become far more than a client. I met him through Caleb Rosen, one of my closest friends and Alex’s cousin, and over time he became like another brother to me. That history made being trusted to preserve this chapter of his relationship with Annie feel deeply personal.

Their session was less about manufacturing romantic moments and more about creating room for their real connection to come forward. The laughter, comfort, affection, and familiarity between them already told the story. My role was to offer enough direction to keep the experience moving while remaining attentive to the quieter gestures and natural exchanges that revealed who they were together.

These photographs preserve the anticipation surrounding their wedding, but they also document something that already felt established: two people who had found trust, friendship, and a sense of home within one another. Having the opportunity to later photograph their wedding made this engagement session the opening chapter of a much larger story I was honored to witness.
