Ellie & Kyle

I first met Kyle while we were students at Lindenwood University, and we quickly became close friends. I watched his relationship with Ellie begin during those college years and saw how naturally they complemented one another. What started as a chapter of student life gradually became a partnership built on friendship, trust, and a genuine understanding of who the other person was.

Being asked to photograph their engagement felt especially meaningful because I was not entering their story as a stranger. I already knew Kyle well and had seen their relationship grow from its beginning. That history allowed the session to feel relaxed and familiar, giving Ellie and Kyle room to focus on one another rather than the camera.

Their connection never needed to be exaggerated. They were comfortable, playful, and completely at ease together—the kind of match that made every interaction feel natural. My role was simply to guide the session while remaining attentive to the laughter, gestures, and quieter moments that revealed the strength of the relationship they had built.

Ellie and Kyle were married on October 5, 2024. These photographs preserve the chapter before that celebration: two college friends who found their person, trusted me to document their engagement, and eventually stepped into the life they had been building together.
