Printmaking

Printmaking transforms a single image through process. A surface is carved, marked, inked, pressed, and repeated—yet no two impressions ever feel completely identical.

I am drawn to the balance between control and unpredictability. Every decision leaves a physical trace, from the marks removed or preserved in the plate to the amount of ink, pressure, alignment, and texture carried onto the paper. Small variations become part of the work rather than mistakes to be hidden.

The process also changes how I think about an image. Instead of capturing a moment instantly, printmaking requires it to be constructed slowly and often in reverse. Each layer demands patience, and the final result is not fully visible until the paper is lifted from the surface.

This collection brings together prints developed through carving, pressure, repetition, and experimentation. Each impression preserves both the original idea and the individual circumstances that brought that particular version into existence.
